The "curtain" rests lightly between entry and exit, holding the quiet warmth of a living space within daily passage.

It does not divide, nor define.

Instead, it lingers as a gentle pause—softening the moment between coming in and stepping out.

Central Plains patchwork curtains carry a sense of weight and grounded simplicity.

Handcrafted from leftover fabric offcuts, each piece is brought together through careful stitching and embroidery. Fragments of cloth and pattern are reassembled into something whole—where time and memory quietly interweave.

They become more than textile; they hold the memory of home, shaped by arrivals and departures, by what it means to leave and to return.

Alongside the "Innerscape · Innerwild" exhibition in Shanghai, we explore a renewed expression of patchwork craftsmanship at Songmont Space in Beijing.

Artists are invited to contribute to the creation of the "Behind Blue Doors" curtain poster series, which are then reinterpreted through a second process of handcraft by the "Granny Team."

Through this collaboration between contemporary Chinese artists and the "grannies", the curtain works carry forward a tactile sense of human warmth, re-emerging in a new medium as both artwork and everyday object.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the participating artists and makers, whose meeting of handcraft and imagination gives rise to new forms—quietly shaping new classics rooted in memory, making, and time.
